Girls Shall Grow (GSG) holds Career Guidance for 150 Girls in Obuasi

Over 150 young girls in the Obuasi Municipality and Obuasi East district were enlightened on career guidance this weekend. The event which took place at the St Thomas Cathedral Social Centre in Obuasi, brought together 8 facilitators in diverse fields. For easy facilitation, the girls were put into groups, in which each facilitator had the opportunity to present to them on their area of specialty.

The girls were educated on choosing careers in Teaching, Health and Environment. They were also taken through careers in the Business sector and the Security agencies.


This is the third event by Girls Shall Grow organization, a non-profit organization in Obuasi. Their first workshop which took place in May this year, educated the girls on how to build their self-esteem. The second event also centred on the sexual and reproductive rights of the girl child.


Executive Director of Girls Shall Grow, Mrs. Loiusa Amoah, told Obuasitoday.com that her outfit is determined to empower the girl child to become a better leader in the future.
